Genealogy in the 21st Century.

2018 The year of Good Progress

This year I have fully adopted new motto of doing genealogy research for you. Transcribed indexes cover most of the data available for the early 19th century Minsk Governorate of the present day Belarus. This includes following districts:

  • Minsk 1816-1819, district farmers 1858
  • Bobruysk 1811, 1816-1818, (1820-rural census)
  • Borisov 1816-1818 and partially 1834.
  • Igumen 1816-1819
  • Mozyr 1816-1818
  • Pinsk 1811, 1816-1819
  • Slutsk 1816-1819, misc.migration records from 1874 for selected places

While this year has been mostly about census records I have not neglected vital records projects when given a chance. There are pre-WWII Pinsk birth records for 1924-1926 and death records for 1932-1940. Other notables include David-Gorodok vital records 1874-1898, Lakhva marriages 1879-1916 and Minsk death records mostly from early 1900s.

This could be further illustrated by the map color-coded by district.

In addition family names transcribed across hundreds of kilometers, where you can confirm your ancestors living in their towns this early on, I am also including migration information as much as possible. This will enable researchers to find out where some of their ancestors came from as they moved to towns known by family lore as well as potentially find out new branches of the family.

Ukrainian censuses transcribed this year were from districts in Kiev governorate:
