This is another interesting list from Minsk, Minsk district as recorded on September 13, 1838.
It comes from the letter sent from Minsk Financial Committee of Finance Ministry to the Jewish community of Minsk. The letter informed that during checking of census data received from community on March 3, 1838 (Document #42) and comparing this data with current 3-year list* it found in one book many people whose information contains various errors. The letter proceeds with details. However in addition to this there were also age discrepancies between two documents. People listed below were attached to this list. Community thus is tasked to start compiling next list of recruits at once and explain all discrepancies.
Notes: There must have been an additional census in 1838 since the previous main census took place in 1834. Authorities maintained family lists of men coming of age who could be drafted in the army. These lists typically spanned three year period. Typically all males from the family were recorded. The book mentioned above is one such list for the period of 1838-1840.
