Migration
1834
For reasons not entirely known somewhere prior or during the year 1834 large number of Jews from Kiev moved to Vasilkov.
On April 15, 1834 authorities enumerated and compiled the list of these people whose last name are shown below. This list covers pages 182-224 in related file.
The census took place on April 20th.
Few months later, authorities compiled second list of several more families who moved from Kiev.
I can only assume that such move hapenned between April 20th and July 27th, 1834.
There were very few names in the second list (pp.226-229): Goldenberg, Novitskiy, Rotber, Rubin, Shteyngart, Shvarts, Shvartsvald, Yudkovskiy, Zilberberg.
This article is part of a series related to Vasilkov district in Kiev governorate. The number indicates how many households had the same last name.
