Genealogy in the 21st Century.

2017 - The year of Success

While this blog existed for few years, 2017 was the first year I decided to share some of my genealogical work in the form of regular posts. To date I have reviewed multitude of genealogical records. Among these records are 11 FamilySearch microfilms, with last name extracts posted on this very blog. These records include but certainly not limited to the following places in modern republic of Belarus.

  • Mogilev
  • Pinsk, David-Gorodok, Lakhva
  • Minsk district records
  • Senno

In case the name of your shtetl is not on the list, remember that people migrated and often married in the neighboring communities.

Look at the map on the right. The many yellow dots are the towns and villages mentioned in records indirectly which greatly outnumber red dots. And I'm sure I missed a few.

However this blog is not only about records. At this time I have currently 15 articles that touch other aspects of our ancestors' lives, which are currently in the works and need further ironing before they see the light of day.
